Dr. Jamie Ginberg

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Welcome!

Taking the first step in seeking help takes courage and is a powerful decision towards positive change. As a psychologist, my passion lies in helping individuals and families on their path toward self-improvement and making meaningful life changes. I specialize in anxiety, depression, eating disorders, life transitions, and maternal mental health. I believe that our collaborative relationship is essential to your healing, and we will work together to create realistic and manageable goals.

I am passionate about helping adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, eating and body image concerns, relationship issues, life transitions, and general life stressors. While I have extensive training in CBT and DBT, I utilize an integrative, flexible approach to help clients live more fulfilling lives, gain confidence, and build a life worth living. I work to increase self-awareness into the maladaptive thoughts that may be contributing to current symptoms and help manage challenges, increase self-understanding, and achieve therapeutic goals.

I focus on a collaborative, client-centered approach to treatment in which I prioritize the therapeutic relationship as the most significant catalyst to change. My approach is based on my belief that a supportive, validating, nonjudgmental, and empowering environment leads to positive change. I strive to create a strong and genuine therapeutic relationship through my warmth, humor, honesty, and compassion.

I look forward to being a part of your therapy journey!

Areas of Specialty

Anxiety is a common and normal human experience that can range from mild unease to intense fear. It is our body's natural response to stress, alerting us to potential dangers and helping us stay safe. However, when anxiety becomes excessive or uncontrollable, it can interfere with daily life and overall well-being. Symptoms of anxiety may include excessive worry, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, and sleep disturbances.

ANXIETY

While everyone feels sad from time to time, depression is a serious mental health condition that can manifest in various ways, including persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and worthlessness. Individuals struggling with depression may experience changes in appetite, sleep disturbances, and a lack of interest in previously enjoyed activities. Depression can impact every aspect of a person's life, making it challenging to function at work, school, or in relationships.

DEPRESSION

POSTPARTUM

Postpartum mental health issues can encompass a range of challenges for new mothers, including feelings of guilt, exhaustion from lack of sleep, and difficulty adjusting to the demands of caring for a newborn. These issues are common and should not be ignored or brushed aside. Seeking support from a therapist who specializes in maternal mental health can make a significant difference in navigating and overcoming these challenges. Remember, you are not alone, and it is okay to ask for help.

RELATIONSHIPS

When facing relationship challenges, feelings of hurt and sorrow can worsen depression and anxiety. It is imperative to analyze the complexities of our relationships, along with acknowledging our own contributions to them, in order to facilitate the healing process and personal development. Through recognizing our behavioral patterns, communication approaches, and emotional catalysts, we can nurture more positive connections and enhance our psychological health. Therapy offers a safe space to explore dynamics, gain self-awareness, and learn tools for healthier relationships.

In a time where we are bombarded by mixed messages about food and weight, it is understandable how someone can adopt an unhealthy relationship with food and his/her body. It often starts innocently with a diet or a new workout plan. Over time, this becomes increasingly all consuming and potentially life threatening.

EATING DISORDERS

LIFE TRANSITIONS

Life transitions can be challenging to navigate alone. Whether you are starting a new chapter, facing unexpected changes, or feeling stuck in the midst of transition, therapy can provide a supportive space to explore your thoughts and emotions and build resilience, enhance coping skills, and foster personal growth. Together, we can work towards finding a sense of direction, acceptance, and meaning during times of change.
